New contract for NBCC Instructors officially signed

Members of the New Brunswick Community College (NBCC) Instructors group represented by the New Brunswick Union (NBU) and officials from NBCC officially signed a new collective agreement on Tuesday, April 24.
The five-year and three-month agreement dates back to May 1, 2015 and expires July 31, 2020. A tentative deal between the two sides was reached in early November of 2017 and NBCC Instructors voted in favour of ratifying the agreement later that month.
On hand for the signing were members of the NBCC Instructors bargaining team, NBU President Susie Proulx-Daigle, NBU executive director Leigh Sprague and representatives from NBCC.
The terms and conditions of the agreement came into effect upon signing.
"A lot of hard work went into getting this deal done," said Proulx-Daigle. "I want to thank our bargaining team for their dedication and perseverance on behalf of their colleagues."
Community College Instructors teach all courses offered at six locations of the NBCC system in New Brunswick. Instructors play a key role in the training and development of our young people towards meeting our provinces present day and future needs.
