Tentative deal reached at Orchard View

The employees of the Orchard View Long Term Care Home in Gagetown reached a tentative agreement with the employer on a new contract.

The tentative deal was reached on Jan. 22, 2019. The New Brunswick Union (NBU) represents the workers at Orchard View.

“While there’s work still to be done on this agreement, this would mark the first contract for this group,” said NBU President Susie Proulx-Daigle. “The next step is to present the deal to all members, answer their questions and have a vote.”

The group joined the NBU in 2016. The professionals working at Orchard View ensure those residing at the long-term care facility receive the best care possible in a safe and welcoming environment.

"I want to thank everyone involved for their dedication and hard work during the negotiation process," said Proulx-Daigle. "Both sides displayed mutual respect for the positions presented which makes for good conditions to negotiate."
