Get out and vote

The New Brunswick Union (NBU) is encouraging all of its members, and Canadians as a whole, to get out and vote on Monday, Oct. 21.

“Taking part by casting your vote is an essential part of any democracy,” said NBU President Susie Proulx-Daigle. “Take the time to understand the parties’ positions on issues that are important to you and vote accordingly.”

The NBU published a six-part series on various issues in this federal election. They can be found at the following links:

If you don’t know where or how to vote, please consult the Elections Canada website at www.elections.ca or call 1-800-463-6868.

It’s estimated that approximately 4.7 million electors voted at the advance polls in this general election. According to Elections Canada that is a 29 per cent increase from those who voted in advance polls in 2015.

“On Oct. 21, we have a chance to elect the people who will shape our country, I have faith that Canadians will make smart and informed choices,” said Proulx-Daigle.
