Carleton-Kirk members vote in favour of tentative agreement

Members of the Carleton-Kirk component – represented by the New Brunswick Union (NBU) – voted in favour of accepting a tentative agreement on a new contract.
The vote was held on Dec. 7.
“Members have shown exceptional patience in getting to this point,” said NBU President Susie Proulx-Daigle. “They’ve been waiting a long time for a new deal.
“Nursing home workers do an exceptional job each and every day caring for our seniors. The pandemic has only amplified their importance to our province.”
The previous agreement expired on Oct. 15, 2016. Once signed, the recently ratified contract will run through 2022.
The deal will become official once it is signed by members of both bargaining teams.
