The Carleton-Kirk bargaining group became the fifth component represented by the New Brunswick Union to officially sign a new collective agreement with its employer in the past few months. The deal was signed on Monday, Oct. 26.
Members of the bargaining team along with representatives from the employer took part in the ceremony at the Carleton Kirk Lodge Nursing Home in Saint John.
The terms and conditions of the agreement came into effect upon the signing.
"We feel this contract is beneficial for all involved," said NBU President Susie Proulx-Daigle. "We were pleased with the process to arrive at this point."
A total of nine groups represented by the NBU have either officially signed new contracts, ratified a new deal or agreed to a tentative collective agreement in the past few months.
