Groups vote to ratify contracts

Both the Technical Inspection and Laboratory and Medical groups represented by the New Brunswick Union (NBU) have voted to ratify new contracts.

The voting process for each group ended at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15 with each one voting in favour of recently bargained tentative agreements with the provincial government.

The deals are for five years and three months and run from December 1, 2014 to February 29, 2020.

"I want to thank all of the members who took the time to study the agreements, asked questions and vote," said NBU President Susie Proulx-Daigle. "Members of the bargaining team worked hard on behalf of their colleagues and deserve a lot of credit for getting these deals in place."

A total of 18 groups represented by the NBU have either reached a tentative agreement, ratified a deal or officially signed a new contract in the past 10 months.
