NBU groups sign four new collective agreements

Four groups represented by the New Brunswick Union (NBU) made their new collective agreements official on Wednesday.

Technical Inspection, Laboratory and Medical, NBCC Administrative and Program Support Services and Soutien Administratif du CCNB all participated in official signing ceremonies.

For the Technical Inspection and Laboratory and Medical groups, the new contract is for five years and three months covering the time period of Dec. 1, 2014 through Feb. 29, 2020.

President of the NBU Susie Proulx-Daigle and members of the bargaining team were on hand for the signing in Fredericton along with Human Resources Minister Denis Landry and other government officials.

The NBCC Administrative and Program Support Services collective agreement is also for five years and three months from Jan. 1, 2014 to March 31, 2019.

As for the Soutien Administratif du CCNB group, it's new deal runs from Jan. 1, 2014 through March 31, 2019 as well.

The CCNB and NBCC signings took place in Bathurst and Fredericton, respectively. Proulx-Daigle, coordinating labour relations officer Michelle Losier and members of the bargaining team took part along with representatives from the community college systems.

"Everyone involved in the negotiations for these four groups worked extremely hard and deserve a lot of credit," said Proulx-Daigle. "We're glad we could get these deals finalized and signed."
