Helping those who care for us

As New Brunswickers, we never hesitate to help our friends and neighbours.
It’s part of who we are.
Many of our family members, friends and colleagues work in health care and, right now, they need our help.
We represent thousands of health care workers and we want to try and ease the heavy burden being placed on our system and those who work within it.
We’re entering the cold and flu season while still dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. Many people are going to our emergency rooms with severe respiratory illnesses. They have nowhere else to turn as they do not have access to a family doctor or other primary care.
It’s why we are asking all our members and New Brunswickers to please wear a mask in public and indoor spaces for the next few weeks and months. We also ask you to ensure your vaccinations and flu shots are up to date.
We know COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses are airborne and we know masking can help prevent the spread of these illnesses.
Throughout the past three years, health care workers have been there for us. Often at great risk to their own health and safety and that of their families.
It’s our turn to help them and the health care system we all depend on. So please, wear a mask in public spaces and indoor spaces; and make sure your vaccinations and flu shots are up to date.
Let’s help our family, friends and neighbours stay happy, healthy, and safe.
